In 2010 Gray Street celebrates 25 years of operation, and with that a rich history of 83 access tenants. Every access tenant who works at Gray Street workshop collects different experiences and knowledge along their journey. Who we work next to and the atmosphere of the workshop shapes new ideas and inspires different techniques. The workshop provides a nurturing and inspirational environment for jewellers at various stages in their careers.
During 2009 there were six access tenants at the workshop; Jess Dare, Juju Haifawi, Tessa Milne, Alice Potter, Chloe Shay and Michelle Taylor. This exhibition showcases a selection of work that is inspired by their time at Gray Street Workshop.
The approach taken to this exhibition has been diverse, each jeweller drawing on different experiences and inspirations, whether it is the physical space that houses the workshop, the emotion and feeling of the people that share the space, technical or professional knowledge gained, or the friendships and personal development that have evolved whilst sharing the space.
