Gallery East joins Perth Galleries to showcase the work of recent graduate artists from the Universities and TAFE Art schools.
Tim Blaxell’s continues his exploration of brushes constructed from sticks and local fibre, Denise Brown’s sculptures are concerned with the psychological condition of the human animal, Sarah Brown’s jewellery draws on contrasting elements of nature, pattern & repetition, Sophie Burgoyne uses ephemeral materials to convey the figure in absentia, Yee Sum Cham creates one of a kind multi sized jewellery that can be worn at any occasion, Ayla Dare-Collard’s ceramics centre on a material inquiry on a humble form of beauty, Christine Godfrey’s felted objects explore healing and nurturing qualities, Susan Hamlin-Sullivan’s painted works convey atmospheric shadows, light and wave forms of the visible coloured spectrum, Richard Healey’s paintings reveal a sense of tension in which something has or is just about to happen, Louise Joesbury’s paintings explore her nostalgic connection with horses, Dean Moyes’ sculptures investigate how relationships work, San Wei Lee’s jewellery continues her fascination with the beauty of the nature’s shapes, forms, patterns and intricate details, Cathy Salter’s flamboyant eye catching flower jewellery is constructed from recycled materials and Chloe Tupper’s paintings using hair on silk to explore her interest in revealing personalities.
