Call for artwork
The
John Curtin Gallery will be presenting a survey exhibition featuring
contemporary jewellery and objects produced by Western Australian
artists over the past fifty years.
bling
Exhibition dates: 9 April – 4 June 2010
This exhibition will explore the development of contemporary Western Australian jewellery
through the presentation of key works by artists who were instrumental in the practice.
These works will be sourced from private and public collections.
bling will also feature works by emerging artists who, through their practice, aim to
challenge the conventions of contemporary jewellery. These pieces will be placed alongside
those of historical importance, highlighting the development of Western Australian
jewellery.
The John Curtin Gallery is currently seeking Western Australian jewellery and
objects from the period 1960 onwards that are held in local private and public
Collections and would be available for loan to the John Curtin Gallery for the
exhibition.
If you feel you have a work in your collection that may be suitable, please send:
o A brief description of the piece, including the year it was created and the artist’s
name, if known.
o An image of the artwork if possible
