Artist Grants
I was wondering if anyone knows much about artist grants????I'm soooo very sick of working another job to support myself (reality I know)and was wondering if anyone had information?Perhaps you're 'been there and done that" or are currrently involved in something.

Hi Sarah,
The best places to start are the govt. agencies: The Australia Council http://www.australiacouncil.gov.au/ and Arts Victoria http://www.arts.vic.gov.au/content/Public/Home.aspx . There are a lot of other philianthropic organisations, here are a few I've found:

http://www.grantslink.gov.au/
http://www.philanthropy.org.au/
http://www.ianpotter.org.au/
As for applying for them, Craft Victoria often run forums about applying for grants. Become a member, it's a great organisation.
