enamelled large wreath brooch - black, 2011

A piece from the laser cut 'Sieve' pattern from 2010. The wreath brooches are varied by the colour and texture of the small quatrefoil pieces that hover over the surface of the Gothic pointed substrate. This one features transparent vitreous enamel, which, over the steel which blackens in the heat of the kiln, becomes a frosted charcoal colour.
