Ark in Troubled Waters (image 2) [view description]
This is the design with which I've just been the lucky recipient of First Prize for the 'Best Of' Design Competition, Platinum Category, run by 'National Jeweler' Magazine, in the United States. The results were published this month (Nov 09)
I designed the ring as a yellow gold vessel, set with a marquise diamond, riding above the waves of a platinum storm.
The motif seemed to hit a chord with the times, both in terms of the economy, and in terms of the threat of terrorism, but the theme is more universal than those narrower concerns.

Nice to know that a few people saw that 'Commemorative Wearables' exhibition up there. It's going to tour; I think that the Manly regional Art Gallery is the next venue, but I don't have the times yet.
