I'm fascinated by the challenge of working with abstract non-objective form to explore and translate thoughts, feelings, and intuitions into unfamiliar objects in my external landscape. Shadows are an important aspect of these linear forms. They exist in the two-dimensional reality of the piece, changeable over time and in varying light conditions.
No. 6 is made of 14K gold-filled wire and sheet, multi-colors of niobium wires, and a small jade, tourmaline, and chrysoprase. The frame was created from one continuous eight foot length of heavy wire. It measures 13" L x 3" H x 7" W. I shot it as a stabile here, but it can also hang.
