Anna Davern completed her undergraduate degree in Jewellery and Object Design at Sydney College of the Arts and her post-graduate studies and subsequent Masters Degree at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Anna teaches, writes, curates, blogs and primarily makes jewellery from her studio in Flinders Lane, Melbourne. She exhibits regularly in Australia and overseas, has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards and has participated in residencies in Australia and Europe. She is represented in Melbourne by e.g.etal and Craft Victoria.
Anna is intrigued by the nature of the relationships that are formed between art objects and a 'viewer'. As a maker of jewellery she is interested in how the process of touching and being touched by art objects enhances these relationships. She is also equally fascinated by the idea of 'Australian-ness' and plays with cultural stereotypes to investigate notions of national identity.

Hi Anna
Great idea, looks good, and you have members already!!!! I will get on to that and see if we can get a few more groups happening.
Some Melbourne galleries would be nice, I know they have all been invited, perhaps its just the christmas frenzy.
cheers
Cathy
Hi
Thanks so much for joining. Its only early, and its great to have some brave souls kick it all off.
There is lots of stuff you can do on kit and caboodle (yep, all my kids have terrible names too) - put images, news and events up, ask/answer stuff in the forums, join a group, chat will be happening sometime soon, and yes, you can even pimp your page.
Just remember kit and caboodle is a public network, its aim is promotional, so be sure to only put up personal details that you are comfortable with. There are privacy and email options in the settings.
Anytime you have a problem, or cant work something out, let me know.
Cheers
Cathy
Didnt really answer the question did I.
Jewellers, galleries, students, photographers of jewellery, academics, fabulous jewellers PAs, retired jewellers, shops.............
Australia, New Zealand, anywhere close by that doesnt get much of a look in - New Guinea, Micronesia............
There are theoretically parameters, but flexible ones, it all depends on interest I think.
Hey we already have a spanish blogger - she has a great site and features lot of Aus/nz jewellers - http://mardecolorrosa.blogspot.com/
Thank you for joining Anna, it's great to have you on board.
I did set this up because there is an appalling lack of stuff out there about Aussie and NZ jewellers, it seems to me jewellers in the rest of the world have a higher profile and more opportunities to exhibit, sell and be apreciated.
The only other network that seems to be jewellery based is crafthaus. Klimt02 is a fabulous network/ resource as well, but you need to pay, and again it is not really going to do much to raise the profile of contemporary jewelllery in our part of the world.
I am open to suggestions however.
