About
Inspired by the coastal farming environment where I grew up, my practice has concerned with responding to objects collected from the south west region. From using and manipulating the found materials like driftwood and bone in previous ranges i now respond to shifting influences. I reference the organic matter gathered over the years and my work now stands in memory of these collections. Shape, surface, weight - visual and actual, material, colour and the horizon line are areas of focus in my investigations resulting in collections to adorn the body in reference to and reverence of objects and landscape.

Hey Sister! its really really nice to meet yah!
Thats great to hear! I love to buzz you get after completing a huge body of work! . . . you must keep momentum going! I must admit that was something I forgot to do! now my Malachi Label is in need for a new collection and I'm still drawing it up for a MAY release this year! argghhh!!! I'm also doing some Runway Couture stuff again this year for Styleaid so its up to 10 pieces this time round but I think Only going to put out what I can really afford to finish properly! cause its sooo time consuming to get things done!!! On top of that Jacqueline, Celia, Kelly and I are starting our own kitsch label/collective group. . .'JACK be Nimble' (Jacqueline Alister Celia Kelly) for all those cool ideas we think are cool but would not necessarily put our names to it! :D hehehe also a market tester for what works and what doesn't!

Still making exhibition work and looking to enter a few things here and there in terms of awards and what not . . .but we shall see! Also doing a bit of styling this year been teaming up with Photographer Cheyne Tillier-Daly from the West Australian and shooting editorials and fashion work! I love it collecting clothes from shops jewellery and what not! If your ever interested I could always use some awesome Jewellery! so if it suits and your happy to lend it to me for the shoot! I'd love to include ur work! at the moment none of our shoots we are doing are guaranteed to print, but we will always be submitting to various publications like BOX magazine and Vita~ and Kurve. Magazine! If it does go to print you would most definately get credited and your name would appear . . .. i.e. Necklace by Carolyn Gorman . . ..and a contacts bit at the back! Something for you to think about :D

KK I really should get back to work! retail sector is really bad atm but we hope things will pick up soon!!!

speak soon lover!

Hi Carolyn

Its great to have you join up.

There is lots of stuff you can do on kit and caboodle - put images, news and events up, ask/answer stuff in the forums, join a group and yes, you can even pimp your page. Its easy to move elements around and to change the format of your page.

Just remember kit and caboodle is a public network, its aim is promotional, so be sure to only put up personal details that you are comfortable with. There are privacy and email options in the settings. (Gazillions of kit and caboodle emails in your inbox driving you bonkers? Check out how to fix that in FAQ on the right.)

Kit and caboodle is an ideal place to put up posts about exhibitions or any current news that you have. There is a lot of interest in the network. It would be great if you posted regularly in the blog, you can choose to have blog posts on your page and/or on the front page. Add some images and links too.

Also dont forget to join our facebook page. Say hi to Sonya.

Most of all, there are lots of opportunities to network with other jewellers, outlets, galleries and to see what is happening in the world of contemporary jewellery. It should be fun. Anytime you have a problem, or cant work something out, let me know.

Cheers
Cathy
