- Danielle Butters is a contemporary jewellery and object maker living and working in Sydney, Australia. She thinks and writes, draws, designs, makes, sculpts and teaches. Danielle has an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery and Object Design from the Design Centre Enmore, TAFE NSW, and was recognised with awards from the Design Institute of Australia and TAFE NSW. Danielle has exhibited in galleries across Australia and in Japan and completed a residency at Sturt Contemporary Craft Centre. In addition to designing and making, Danielle teaches jewellery at the Design Centre Enmore, TAFE NSW and Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre.
Danielle’s work explores notions of identity, often through the delightful ingenuity and subjectivity of memory. Frequently struck by the emotional impact memories have, she gives voice to these emotions, making them real, treasured feelings that can be held and touched.
Her inspiration comes from stories – her own and others’, and from objects she treasures that carry tales of their own. She tells these stories through line, colour, texture and shape. Using a diverse range of materials such as silver, stone, wood and steel, she most enjoys working with materials and ideas that challenge her.
Her work takes time – time to look, experience, discover and communicate. It asks you to slow down, remember, think, react. It gives you a chance to feel. Danielle’s work includes personalised commissions, one-off exhibition pieces and a limited edition production range.
Danielle has curated and coordinated contemporary jewellery exhibitions and has taken part in workshops, master classes and conferences for the jewellery and creative industries. Indulging her passion for drawing, Danielle also takes bespoke portrait commissions and has taught life drawing in Sydney and Melbourne.

Thanks so much for joining. Its only early, and its great to have some brave souls kick it all off.
There is lots of stuff you can do on kit and caboodle - put images, news and events up, ask/answer stuff in the forums, join a group, chat will be happening sometime soon, and yes, you can even pimp your page.
Just remember kit and caboodle is a public network, its aim is promotional, so be sure to only put up personal details that you are comfortable with. There are privacy and email options in the settings.
