As an independent designer and maker, I create both large sculptural objects and small scale jewellery pieces.
I have a strong interest in architecture and the hidden inner structures that can be found within them. The fluidity in the strong bold lines found within structures such as Richard Turners curvlinear greenhouses in the Botanical Gardens in Dublin is intergral to my work.
The use of mixed media such as fine copper wire and stainless steel allows me to focus on the strength of each line within the designs. It also allows me the flexibility to play with scale and to combine the materials together in experimental and exciting ways. I have developed my technique of 'Felting' the copper wire and this has given me a unique way to create 3-dimensional forms and vessel shapes.
