I am originally from the UK and have recently graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Crafts from Coventry University, I specialised in jewellery design and making. I am an Australian Citizen and living in Australia for the foreseeable future.
I have been making my own simple jewellery for a long time, originally using glass beads and silver plated wire. Following my degree, I now work with silver, sheet and wire
I am eager to learn about gemmology, diamond technology and working with precious metals, such as gold, white gold and platinum. I would like to gain more practice and experience in the workshop.
I aim to create jewellery which draws attention in the same way as a bunch of flowers might brighten up a room. I am particularly attracted to colourful and chunky jewellery as it is bold and sculptural.
My degree work represented the stages of buds flowering which were my sources of inspiration. These stages fascinate me as you can’t see them in action with the naked eye. My jewellery captures these stages like moments in time.
In order to broaden my skills I am interested in using alternative materials to silver such as, felt, wood, plastic, resin, gem stones and diamonds.
I'm organising a hand-made jewellery market & think your creations would be a perfect fit.
“A Little Bazaar” is all about out-of-the-ordinary hand-made jewellery and objects.
The focus of this event is to celebrate you - the designer, your concepts and
your creations. A little market that’s a little... bizarre.
The market will take place in The Beresford Hotel’s courtyard, 354 Bourke
Street, Darlinghurst NSW, opposite from the Object Gallery on the 26th of
September, the last Saturday of the month. The bazaar will get bustling from
11am - 6pm.
The day should be a lot fun but in the end, will be great platform for promoting your brand to consumers who are looking for quality jewellery, as well as a great sales opportunity.
We have had success hosting similar events in the past including Fringe Bar markets & Art Market.
There are already over 25 designers on board and please visit http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123771226327&ref=nf to see some of their works as well as the attached flyer for a summary of the details.
If you're interested or have any other questions, please email me for an application form - alittlebazaar@dialoguepr.com.au
Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Hannah-
Thanks for contacting me! I'm still a student myself and am not quite on my own two feet either!
Some good places in Sydney to check out would be:
Gaffa Gallery- an independant artist gallery with jewellers on site
Metalab- jewellery and object gallery
Studio 20/17- in Danks St, Waterloo
These places may have also heard of other opportunities that might interest you.
Best of luck in Sydney and finding some work,
Naomi
Hi Hannah,
Sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately I don't have any work available at the moment. I hope you find something soon! Love your designs!

Hi Hannah, welcome to Oz!
Unfortunetly I am not looking for an assistant at the moment, nor do I know anyone who is, I'm sorry to say. I will keep my ears open though and let you know if something comes up.
cheers
There is lots of stuff you can do on kit and caboodle - put images, news and events up, ask/answer stuff in the forums, join a group and yes, you can even pimp your page. Its easy to move elements around and to change the format of your page.
Just remember kit and caboodle is a public network, its aim is promotional, so be sure to only put up personal details that you are comfortable with. There are privacy and email options in the settings. (Gazillions of kit and caboodle emails in your inbox driving you bonkers? Check out how to fix that in FAQ on the right.)
Kit and caboodle is an ideal place to put up posts about exhibitions or any current news that you have. There is a lot of interest in the network. It would be great if you posted regularly in the blog, you can choose to have blog posts on your page and/or on the front page. Add some images and links too.
Also dont forget to join our facebook page. Say hi to Sonya.
Most of all, there are lots of opportunities to network with other jewellers, outlets, galleries and to see what is happening in the world of contemporary jewellery. It should be fun. Anytime you have a problem, or cant work something out, let me know.
