- I discovered the world of the designer jeweller at an age when many are looking forward to the day they can retire. In 2007 I graduated from TAFE with an Advanced Diploma Fine Arts (Jewellery Design and Fabrication) to begin yet another new career!
Since emigrating to Australia from Kenya via Sweden in 1965, I've helped manage a trucking business, trained racehorses, been a hairdresser, worked in the old Metro fruit and vegetable markets, been a telemarketer, a journalist, an insurance saleswoman, worked as office manager for a computer company and kept the books for a real estate company and a shark fishing venture.
My only regret is that that I did not 'discover' the world of the designer-jeweller decades ago.
I'm an active member of the WA Lapidary and Rockhunting Club of WA (Inc). and cut a few of my own cabochons. Most of my work revolves around the fabulous natural resources of Western Australia, especially pearls and nuggets ...

On Joining Kit & Caboodle
I look forward to exploring this site properly; 'meeting' other members and above all, learning more about all things jewellery related. Sometimes, it's just so excellent that the world has shrunk so much that half the globe away is as close as my next door neighbour ... jambo, welkommen, g'day, bon jour and buenas dias!
