I stumbled briefly across a unique weaving form, using brightly coloured horse hair woven by hand into intricate little animals and flower structures. As I begin planning the next trip, I'm wondering if anyone out here in kit&Caboodle land may have knowledge of any galleries or workshops held in Chile specifically to this…See More

About
Through hair weaving I aim to revive and revamp the art form by allowing personal mementos to be worn in a contemporary and captivating way; stimulating conversation and intrigue.

As an Artist I desire for my jewellery to serve as a personalised and insightful object of reflection for the wearer to feel expressive, wholesome and unique.

Hair is the perfect medium for the expression of individuality as all types can be woven into a piece of art; curly or straight, human or animal – hair is a material of boundless expression

oh, and if you take the ferry across the bay to Niterói, it's well worth a visit to MAC and coffee in the bistro under it- amazing art and view... I'm getting homesick :-)

Hum, I wish I could suggest you but there're a lot of jewellery stores but the fancy kind you know... if you find any contemporary jewellery galleries in Rio, please let me know as I'm visiting in mid-December... I've been asking friends over there and in São Paulo- if I hear anything I'll pass you the info. Make sure to visit Paço Imperial and CCBB, downtown Rio (for art), I think you'd like the Museu do Indio, too http://www.museudoindio.org.br/ Best of luck!
