Art and design has always been apart of my life. Growing up in the Blue Mountains with a father and mother heavily involved in both arts and crafts, it was inevitable that I should also end up in the arts.
As a small child, when my father would come home from work I would immediately run and show him my collection of paper jewellery that I had made throughout the day, and we would have an exhibition just like he would have for his photographs. Now days it’s when I come home that I show him all my adventures in the workshop and the machines or difficulties that I was challenged by that day. My life has changed but my adventures are the same just at a bigger scale.
Subjects that are usually expressed in my work are of a nostalgic theme. I try and focus on the beautiful things that evoke memory, such as stumbling upon your favourite family photo or the feeling of a hot open fire. Natural Australian History fascinates me and this usually is evident in my concepts. Most concepts also involve links to family and results in myself having a solid connection with the piece of work.
At the moment I am currently studying at Sydney College of the Arts and enjoying working in a expanding learning environment.
