Born in 1977, Porto, Portugal.
Lives and works in Porto.
With training in Modern Languages and Portuguese and French Literatures and professional experience in cultural programming and production since 1999, I collaborated among many others, with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Serralves, Culturgest (Porto), and many art galleries.
In 2007 I began to experiment with wire inspired by ancient knitting techniques apparently anachronistic that I had learn many time before with my mother and grandmother, like crochet, tricot and embroidery.
Since then, I started producing jewlery and sculpture knitted using only my hands and a knitting needle creating unique or limited series objects.
When I create a piece of jewelery or a sculpture I try to retrieve it from the decorative assumption that it may have still in contemporary societies, addressing universal themes that, somehow make part of my visual memory.
Different materials, with an apparently different aesthetics, form a unit, allowing me the expression of the same conceptual body. The works presented here are the results of a visual research, conducted over the past three years, reflecting a view, intimate and personal, of the importance of physiological and emotional memories.
