Pieces of Eight Gallery showcases exclusive and limited collections of contemporary jewellery and small art objects made by over 50 Australian and international makers. Representing both emerging and established artisans, the gallery is dedicated to intelligent and innovative design, creating a unique experience of wonder and surprise. It was established in 2005 by jeweller Melanie Katsalidis in North Fitzroy, where the Pieces of Eight Workshop remains a vibrant studio for six independent jewellers. Both the gallery and workshop are committed to promoting contemporary jewellery and objects in dynamic new ways. Together, they provide a unique platform for makers to communicate and express their ideas to the public. The workshop also offers an exciting residency program for selected artists.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, the gallery also presents an exceptional exhibition program with guest curators, workshops, online blogs, interviews and special events held throughout the year. It offers the highest quality service to its visitors and clients, including consultation for commissioned pieces and bespoke wedding rings.
