Kodama (return to me) by Yuko Fujita at e.g.etal at e.g.etal

July 15, 2010 at 6pm to July 31, 2010 at 5pm
Melbourne jeweller, Yuko Fujita, has transformed recycled objects of distinctly domestic and ordinary origins into bold pieces of jewellery. Fujita’s pieces herald a new beginning for these objects, while consciously reflecting on the many lives they may have had since beginning as a tree. Careful not to erase the memory of previous incarnations, Fujita has carved and chiselled each object by hand.Responding to an inaudible echo of the forest (Kodama), Fujita’s pieces recall imaginary plants,…See More

Drinks with Helena Bogucki Monday 5 October 2009

The works of jeweller, Helena Bogucki look like pieces from an eccentric little private museum. In fact she does incorporate antique and vintage found objects to reference the historical context of jewellery and then very cleverly connects these to the contemporary jewellery movement. In doing so, Helena’s jewellery design practice creates and explores dialogue between the collection of history and the individual. Each piece has a past, present and future.…

Hi Phoebe

Just so you dont feel left out, here is the official welcome, thanks for all your input so far, keep it coming!!
I
ts great to have you join up, and your images look great.

There is lots of stuff you can do on kit and caboodle - put images, news and events up, ask/answer stuff in the forums, join a group and yes, you can even pimp your page.

Just remember kit and caboodle is a public network, its aim is promotional, so be sure to only put up personal details that you are comfortable with. There are privacy and email options in the settings. (Gazillions of kit and caboodle emails in your inbox driving you bonkers? Check out how to fix that in FAQ on the right.)

Kit and caboodle is an ideal place to put up posts about exhibitions or any current news that you have. There is a lot of interest in the network. It would be great if you posted regularly in the blog, you can choose to have blog posts on your page and/or on the front page. Add some images and links too.

Also dont forget to join our facebook page. Say hi to Sonya.

Most of all, there are lots of opportunities to network with other jewellers, outlets, galleries and to see what is happening in the world of contemporary jewellery. It should be fun. Anytime you have a problem, or cant work something out, let me know.

Cheers
Cathy
