CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY NETWORK

First up, please excuse me while I talk about another craft-based online community for a moment. Please don't go! It's for a good cause, an enamel exhibition taking place in May 2012.

I'm here to beg for your help!

I am currently in the running for a $400 (USD) project grant on Crafthaus, in a competition that can be likened to a kind of Craft Idol. To get the grant I have to get the most votes for my project. This is where you come in...

If you feel so inclined, I'd love it if you could vote for me here. My proposal is to help fund a trip from Melbourne to Arizona next year to install an exhibition called Heat Exchange (which is #4 and the voting form is at the bottom of the page.) You can only vote once, but please feel free to tell your friends, colleagues, sisters, partners etc.

The Heat Exchange exhibition is subtitled 'A cross-continental survey of enamel', and will showcase vitreous enamel on jewellery and objects. I’m a co-curator for this show, with Elizabeth Turrell and Beate Gegenwart, two highly experienced enamellists whose work I greatly respect and admire.

The exhibition will take place in Phoenix, and is timed to coincide with the Society of American Goldsmiths (SNAG) annual conference The Heat Is On next year.

Thanks for your time, and for your help.

Melissa

Thanks Cate! Well, in the end I think I was smashed by a last minute run from 'Sex, Drugs n Rock & Roll'. Inevitable, some might say, since it was a much more alluring title ;)

I voted for you, how did it go?
