Public Displays of Attention’ - Claire McArdle
5th – 16th June 2012
CELEBRATION DRINKS Saturday 9th June 2012 – 4-6pm
Melbourne jeweller, Claire McArdle, presents an extremely playful and interesting take on the notion of traditional jewellery. These pieces are attention grabbing and create a visual voice which cries out joyously to passers by. Colossal and colourful, these pieces all carry an urge to be connected to others, to generate new conversations and to breakdown the barriers often found between strangers. They create a shared experience for both the wearer and the viewer as they become part of the many ‘Public Displays of Attention’.
Claire says of the exhibition “At the opening people can try on their preferred piece and see if it attracts the right amount of attention for them.”
