world wide jewellery suppliers review project

Let's just break down that title for a sec... OK, world wide. I get it, this thing is big, it's huge, it's going global. We're covering the whole world then. Sure, sounds a little over-optimistic, but lets go with her on this one, for now...

jewellery suppliers. Jewelry suppliers? whatever, po-tay-toh / po-tah-toh. So, it's got something to do with people who supply stuff to jewellers so they can make their stuff. Good-o, on to part three...

review project. Review? Project? We're going to review a project? What?? What about reviewing jewellery suppliers? OK, yeah, that makes sense, sort of. So the project part? Well....

It's a project to reveal and review all the the places that jewellers go to get their supplies, the whole world over. Simple. Jewellers submit the info related to their fave supplier, and it gets posted online.

Hey Melissa, I have been sourcing tools from Otto Frei in the US for the Monash Studio. They have a great range of European made as well as US made tools. The Pepe (US) disc cutters are the best I have used, really well designed and made and very functional. Pepe also make some good doming tools up to 3 1/4 inches in diameter (Americans!!). The exchange rate is excellent at the moment as well, so even with freight costs it's good value.

Thanks Marcus. I'm a big fan of them too, I get lots of their 'steel silk' for my works, and have bought a tiny set of needle files too - you're right, I've only seen a couple of quite similar sizes locally.

Hi Melissa, good idea. Your title is very clear though. My vote would go to Fischer in Germany. Post takes a week and they have everything, even decent length needle files. Seems the Aussie importers have only ever heard of the extra short ones. Good luck with it.
